  • PhD Midwifery

  • Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registrant

  • Hypnobirthing practitioner trained by Calm Births.

I am a registered midwife and hypnobirthing practitioner based in Dorset. I work with women and their birth partners helping them to understand the changes they will experience in pregnancy and prepare for birth and parenthood. My teaching incorporates information about how women's bodies are designed to give birth alongside deep relaxation, visualisation and breathing techniques which enable their bodies to work optimally and birth safely. The classes are tailored to your needs and will give you the opportunity to find out more about issues of specific importance or interest to you.

I qualified as a midwife after having my daughter and son. I worked as an Independent Midwife from 2000 until recently, suppporting women to have the births of their choice and providing childbirth education to help women prepare for birth and parenthood. I now balance working as a lecturer in midwifery with delivering childbirth preparation classes using the Calm Births Course. Over the years I have seen the benefit to families when women have positive, calm births.
